Hello hallyu

I think I have found a logical rationale for the craze over Korean dramas. That is the portrayal of love and relationships. A typical Korean drama begins with two strangers who as a result of fate crosses paths, of which they become loggerheads. But as time passes, they realise the hatred has unknowingly turned to love. Upon acknowledging their feelings for one another, they face obstacles - evil mother, terminal illness, family secret, the slut friend and the list goes on. But the love between the two is so strong that nothing can tear them apart. Faithful they remain to each other. Eventually, a happy ending. (most of the time) As cliché it may be, people love watching despite knowing the plot. Guilty, I am. However, the thing that people dig is the pure, innocent and unending love portrayed, the perfect love story. The lead does not lust over the girl, instead he's understanding, faithful, sweet and gentlemanly; the perfect guy. As fictitious and delusive it may seem, deep down somewhere in the bottom of our hearts, it's comforting to know that there might just be someone as perfect out there. Who doesn't want THE perfect love story? Well, what say you?
